HISD Ethics Reform

Houstonians deserve a school board that has a strong Code of Ethics that puts our children’s safety first and not corporations who seek business from the school board. That is why we want the Houston Independent School Board of Trustees to pass a Code of Ethics that has strong language that clearly draws division between school board trustees, corporations and companies that fund their election campaigns.

Houstonians deserve an accountable school board who:

1. Levels the field by creating a transparent and fair bidding process where quality contractors can compete
2. Gives back to the community, by hiring locally
3. Contracts and hires responsibly ensuring that all workers are paid fairly, provided with benefits, properly trained and protected from health risks
